Clinton Collins

Even on his darkest day, Clinton Collins searches for hope in the world around him. The West Virginia native works hard to bring people together, writing songs that speak to the emotional complexity of human life and distilling hard thoughts into singable hooks. Music has always been a tool for Collins to connect with others throughout his life, as a coal-miner in the depths of the earth, whether with his family, church community, classmates, or co-workers, as demonstrated by his busy schedule of house concerts, benefit performances, small venues, theaters, and songwriter circles. Steeped in southern soul, rock and roll, and Americana, Collins’s music channels the roots of American popular music, from the blues of Lightnin’ Hopkins to the old-time fiddle tunes of central Appalachia.
